Furniture Removals Level 3 Lockdown

Furniture Removals Level 3 Lockdown

Furniture Removals Industry poised for a Boom as the Property Sector coming back into full Swing,

A National lockdown was introduced in South Africa in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 epidemic. The ensuing restrictions brought both the residential and commercial property sector to a grinding halt. The restrictions are being gradually eased to allow more economic and other activities to resume. It has been announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa that as from the 1st June 2020, the Lockdown regulations will be eased with the move from Level 4 to Level 3. This is Good news for various sectors of the South African Economy notably the Property Industry.

With the preceding lockdown levels, the Property sector was inactive. This meant that Estate Agents and Property Owners could not get their vacant properties let aswell as terminating of leases. Tenants could not secure new leases and therefore could not move from their existing apartments.

One sector that was impacted by the inactivity is the Furniture Removals Services Sector. With tenants and property owners not being able to move in to their apartments, this meant reduced demand for Furniture Removal Companies.

With the property Sector in full swing, there should be increased activity in the removals Industry. One could argue with the backlog of around 2 months, the hive of activity might be overwhelming. It would be highly recommended for any prospective clients to book their moves early, especially those planning to move at the end of May.

The high demand for removal services coupled with the marked decrease of fuel price during the lockdown could mean bumper profits for removal Companies. It could also be expected with the economic downturn, there will be a lot of moving due to downscaling aswell.

Interesting times indeed for the industry but as the saying goes, The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
