Do not rush your move.
We’ve all probably heard the saying, “Rome was not built in a day”, no quote could be more relevant when it comes to moving to a new place. Good things take time and it is best to take things slow in order to yield the best results, We therefore do not recommend rushing your move. Last-minute moving is a very dreadful nightmare that even professionals avoid. What you’d rather do instead, is to properly plan your move and make sure you add it to your to-do-list or your calendar. This is one for those time-consuming tasks you do not want to procrastinate on! Give yourself at least a month to properly plan your move. A few questions to ask yourself:
1. Will I be needing moving materials such as moving boxes, bubble wrap or buff tape?
2. Will I require the services of a moving company to help me with furniture removals, storing or packing?
3. What is my budget? Am I willing to sell any items to earn more cash?
4. how far am is the moving destination from where I am currently located?
5. Am I moving with my plants and my pets? If so have I made the necessary arrangements thereof?
6. Will I be needing storage?
7. Will I need relocation services between provinces and do I know the costs involved for such a service?
8. Will I be hosting a farewell party or a housewarming party? (Best get that out the way before the house is in a mess with all the moving preparations).
9. Does the moving company I booked provide moving services all over South Africa and does it cater for the area I am based in, i.e. Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Johannesburg?
10. Have a I compared prices between moving companies to find the most affordable and efficient one?
